3rd CINI Annual Conference on ICT for Smart Cities & Communities (I-CiTies 2017)
September 27-28-29, 2017 - Bari (Italy)

* Submission deadline: June 23, 2017
* Notification: July 7, 2017
* Registration: September 01, 2017
* Conference dates: September 27-28-29, 2017

Theme: "Digital Transformation in Smart Territories: the Industry 4.0 paradigm in a Smart City"
The term "smart"is frequently misused today.
A city becomes smart only when it can offer services that can properly take into account the real and priority needs coming from its population. Those services have to be therefore context-dependent and support the achievement of city-specific goals. Smart city solutions have to be multi-disciplinary, blending together socio, cultural, and technical aspects alltogether. In this context, ICT becomes the means to move from problems to digital solutions.
The conference, at its third edition, is an opportunity for people from academia, industries and public institutions to meet and define new collaborations in the perspective of next national and international project calls. It is not intended to disseminate theoretical scientific activities. Instead, its main goal is to present available innovative solutionsand active research projects, as well as novel ideas for new project proposals.

We expect contributions in all the fields related to ICT-based solutions for
smart cities and communities. Potential topics of interest include, but are not
limited to, the following application domains:
* E-Health
* Food
* Smart Energy
* Smart Building
* Mobility, Transports & Logistics
* Climate & Environment Management
* E-tourism
* E-culture
* E-education
* E-governmen
* E-inclusion
* Urban Security

For additional information related to specific ICT topics, see the focus groups pages of the National Lab on Smart Cities and Communities.

Potential contributors are requested to send an extended abstract that briefly describes the project, or project idea, to be presented.
Both active and recently terminated projects can be considered. Novel ideas for new project proposals are also welcome.

Extended abstracts must be submitted in PDF, following the IEEE template and should not exceed 2 pages in size. Submission is through EasyChair.

During the submission, it is requested to select, if applicable, which of the main tracks of the conference (E-health & Assisted Living, Smart Energy & Smart Buildings, E-government & E-inclusion, Smart Mobility, E-culture & E-tourism, E-education, Big Data, Urban Security, IoT for Smart Cities) best fits the contribution. Submitted extended abstract will undergo a review process to check their relevance to the conference.

The submission of a contribution implies that, if accepted for presentation, at least one of its proponents must register (paying the requested fee) and attend the conference for giving the presentation.
