Short Bio
Domenico Lofù is an Assistant Professor (RTD-A) in Information Processing Systems at the Politecnico di Bari, Italy. He received his Ph.D. in Information Engineering (industrial characterization) from the Politecnico di Bari, in collaboration with Exprivia SpA in 2022. Previously, he worked as a Security & AI Researcher at Exprivia’s Innovation Lab and held research fellowships at the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering (DEI), Politecnico di Bari.
His main research interests lie in the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques and methods in the Information Security & Privacy, Internet of Things (IoT), Healthcare and Brain Machine Interface (BMI) domains.
He has contributed to several European and national projects, including MISTRAL H2020 and ACSOC Digital Europe, where he has led Security and Infrastructure activities.
He has established collaborations with leading universities and research centres worldwide (e.g., INRS – Canada, HBKU – Qatar, Shandong University of Technology – China, University of Suffolk – UK, Eindhoven University of Technology – Netherlands, TII – Abu Dhabi).
He published more than 50 papers in national and international Conferences and Journals. His work has received international recognition, including the Best Paper Award at IEEE COGSIMA 2022.
He actively serves the scientific community as a reviewer for international journals and conferences.
He is currently Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Human-Machine Systems (Q1, SJR 1.132).
